STARS allows you to report both your cumulative GPA and class rank exactly as they appear on your high school transcript.
GPA Entry Guidelines
- Enter both Weighted and Unweighted Cumulative GPA exactly as they appear on your high school transcript if available.
- Use the same grading scale your transcript uses (e.g., 4.0 or 100-point scale).
- If a GPA is not listed on your transcript, check one of the following:
- My school does not report cumulative unweighted GPA
- My school does not report cumulative weighted GPA
- You must either enter a GPA or check the appropriate field indicating that your school does not report cumulative unweighted or weighted GPA.
Class Rank Entry Options
STARS supports the following rank formats. Choose the one that matches your transcript:
- Numeric: Enter an exact rank and class size (e.g., 25 out of 500)
- Percentile: e.g., 96th percentile
- Decile: e.g., Top 10%
- Quartile: e.g., Top 25%
- Quintile: e.g., Top 20%
- Home Educated: For students who are home educated and do not have class rank
- No Rank: If your school does not report rank or you do not know it
If selecting Numeric Rank:
- Enter both Weighted and Unweighted Rank values.
- If not available, check:
- My school does not report weighted rank
- My school does not report unweighted rank
Helpful Tip
Tip: Always enter GPA and rank exactly as shown on your transcript. Do not round, average, or convert values.
