You can add a recovery email to your STARS account in case you lose access to your primary email address. This helps ensure you can still reset your password if needed.
We recommend using a personal email address that you check regularly. Once added, we’ll verify the address to make sure you have access to it.
To add a recovery email:
- Log in to your STARS account.
- Click your name in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Select View Profile from the dropdown menu.
- Under Enhanced Account Security / Recovery Options, add your recovery email.
- Click Save Recovery Email.
- Check your recovery email inbox and follow the verification instructions to finish setup.
To use your recovery email to reset your password:
Note: This option is only available if you previously added and verified a recovery email on your STARS account.
- Go to the STARS website and click Forgot Password.
- Enter your first name, last name, and the email address associated with your STARS account.
- Click Try Another Recovery Option.
- Select Use Recovery Email and click Continue.
- A password reset link will be sent to your recovery email address.
Tip: When resetting your password using a recovery email, make sure to check the recovery email inbox, not the inbox for your main STARS account email.
