How To Enter High School Courses Taken During The Summer

If you took a course during the summer — such as between 11th and 12th grade — you should still include it in your STARS coursework entry.

How to Enter a Summer Course

1. Go to the Enter Coursework screen.
2. Add the course as you would any regular course.
3. In the “Courses were taken in” field, select the preceding grade level.

For example, if you took a course between 11th and 12th grade, select 11th Grade.

Then, check the box labeled “Taken during the summer” to indicate the course was completed outside of the regular school year.

Tip: Summer courses count like regular courses — just make sure to mark the correct grade level and select the “Taken during the summer” option.
