When entering your coursework in STARS, you’ll be prompted to select a Generic Course Title that best matches your class.
How to Select the Right Title
- Choose the title that most closely aligns with the content of your course.
- Example: Select English 1 for a 9th grade English class.
- The name does not have to match your transcript exactly — just select the best available fit.
When to Use “Other”
- If none of the available titles closely match your course:
- Select Other from the Generic Course Title dropdown.
- Enter the exact Course Name from your transcript.
- If the course does not fit any main subject area (English, Mathematics, Science, etc.), select Other Subject Area instead.
