When entering a course in STARS, you’ll be asked to select a Course Level.
How to Select the Course Level
- Check your high school transcript for course level designations.
- Select the Course Level that exactly matches what is listed on your transcript.
- If none of the course levels apply, select Standard.
Some Common Course Levels in STARS
- Honors
- Advanced Placement (AP)
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Dual Enrollment
- College Prep
- Regents
- Gifted and Talented
- Standard (if no level is listed, or none apply)
Tip: The Course Level drop-down in your STARS Record contains the full list.
Alert: Only select AP, IB, or Dual Enrollment if your transcript lists the course with that exact designation.
Tip: Do not assume a course level based on difficulty or teacher — only choose what is clearly shown on your transcript.
