A fifth-year senior (also known as a super senior) is a student completing a fifth year at a four-year high school.
When completing your STARS Record, select 12th grade for both the fourth and fifth years of coursework.
Example: Student who started high school in 2021 and graduates in 2026
- 2021–2022: 9th grade
- 2022–2023: 10th grade
- 2023–2024: 11th grade
- 2024–2025: 12th grade
- 2025–2026: 12th grade
Note: If you graduated from one high school and are now enrolled as a senior at another school, contact the college or university you’re applying to for guidance on how to report those courses.
If You Repeated a Grade
If you repeated a grade level, select the same grade for both academic years. When entering your course information, you will be able to select "a repeat/retake of a prior course" for each repeated course.
