International Applicant: How To Select A Subject Area

When recording courses or external exams for an international high school or secondary school in STARS, you must select a Subject Area.

What to Do

1. Go to the Enter Coursework screen.
2. Select the Subject Area that best matches the course or exam content (e.g., Mathematics, Science).
3. English is listed under World Language.
4. If the course or exam does not match any listed subject area, select:
   Other Subject Area

This helps ensure your coursework and exam results are correctly categorized — even if the subject isn’t traditional or listed.

Tip: If you’re not sure which subject area to use, refer to your transcript or ask your school official how the course is categorized.
