If you’ve listed an international secondary school on your STARS Record, there are some key differences in how information is reported.
Key Differences for International High Schools
- No Middle School Section: You will only list courses from grade levels 9–12.
- If 9th grade was completed at a middle or junior high school, list that school to enter 9th-grade coursework.
- No Annual Academic GPA: STARS does not collect annual academic GPA for international high schools.
Additional Fields for International Schools
When listing an international secondary school, you’ll see additional options:
- Education System / Curriculum: Collected at the school level, by academic year, and by course.
- Grade Scale & Conversions: You can select a different grade scale for each course, if necessary.
- Language of Instruction: You can select the language in which the course was taught.
- Predicted Scores: You may enter predicted grades for in-progress courses.
- External/Leaving Exam Scores: You can record official exam results like A-Levels, IB, CBSE, etc.
- Course Length Option: Also includes quintile.
- More Proficiency Level Options: Such as GCE or IGCSE.
